So, while I did a tidbit of this in December, I’ve waited until January to post about my Best of 2016! 2016 was a generally good year for me, professionally speaking. The path of self employment is a long and very hard one, a lot of people ask me why I do it, and the very simple answer is that I love photography, and more specifically wedding photography. In my humble opinion, if you love your job, you better be willing to fight for it.

Bride and groom in the garden of Ballymascalon Hotel.  Eilish and JP had a gorgeous autumn wedding in October last year (only my favourite time of year!) in the charming Ballymascalon Hotel in Dundalk. I’d been looking forward to Eilish and JPs wedding since I met her and her absolutely lovely mammy over a year ago. You could tell that all the stops were going to be pulled out and that this was going to be a pretty spectacular event. Roll on the 29th of October and I wasn’t disappointed. Eilish looked downright stunning and every detail was seen to, from her dogs little dickie bow to the beautiful labels for the hangers for her and her bridesmaids.

Elopement Mount Juliet Estate

I had the incredible honour of being Nikki and Steve’s photographer when they eloped in Ireland in the stunning Mount Juliet Estate. It was something new to me, to be one of the few present as two people promised themselves to each other forever, I felt honoured, humbled and very excited to be part of their elopement! Nikki and Steve were a really special couple, and their love was very clear for all to see, which made the whole experience all the more touching and special.

When Sarah first emailed me I knew we were going to have an amazing shoot! From the start we were completely on the same page and I could clearly see her vision (I loved it) and I knew immediately that we were going to work fantastically together. When I met her and her lovely fiancé Shaun I was even more excited as they were both so lovely and completely put their trust in me to create some gorgeous sun kissed shots of them on Howth Cliffs.

I love shooting weddings in one of my favourite places, Carlingford, and this wedding was no exception! I met Lisa a few times before her big day and each time I became more and more excited about what she was planning! Ice cream vans, check! Photos taken around Carlingford, check! A black tie dress code check and check! Its didn’t hurt either that Lisa and John were the sweetest most relaxed couple, they made my job an absolute breeze and weren’t phased in the slightest when the weather went from blazing sun to massive hail stones in the blink of an eye.  View full post »
