So you’ve gotten engaged and are diving into the exciting (yet daunting) world of wedding planning? Congratulations! While I can’t speak for other wedding suppliers, I want to help you better understand a few of the processes that take place behind the scenes when it comes to planning your Ireland wedding.
In a previous post, I spoke about how to choose your wedding photographer. Now I’m going to help walk you through the process of booking with them!
Every photographer’s process is a little different, but here are the steps my brides take when booking a wedding with me:
Step 1: Pop me an email!
I would love to hear from you! Be sure to include your date, venue location, and as much detail as possible regarding yourself, your fiancé, and the plans for your big day.
Step 2: Lets talk!
I always suggest scheduling a phone call as it’s so much better to have a chat over the phone rather then email, I can answer all the questions you might have and we can see if we’re a good fit! Of course if you’d like to meet in person that’s even better!
Step 3: Time to get technical!
To fully book your date, I require a booking fee and signed contract. Once you agree to move forward with the booking, I’ll email you an invoice and the contract. It’s pretty straight forward but here are a few points I want you to remember…
- Read through the contract fully and thoroughly.
- The contract is designed to protect you, the client and me as the photographer.
- If you have any questions, worries, concerns, or just arent sure about something – contact me!
Step 4: Ask your questions!
Once the contract is signed/returned and the booking fee is paid, your date is 100% confirmed! (Please note that I cannot hold a date until both of these pieces are done.) If you are unsure about any of this or have questions, please contact me right away!
Step 5: The final balance.
The final payment is due on the balance of your contract two weeks before your wedding date. I typically set up a pre-wedding meeting with couples where we finalize details and take care of this payment.
And that’s all! These are all of the key elements in booking me as your photographer. If I’ve left any questions unanswered or if you’d like to chat with me about photographing your upcoming Ireland wedding, email me at info@silkephotography.ie. I can’t wait to hear from you!
