Winter Wedding in Castlemartyr Hotel

Bride and groom in Castlemartyr grounds

For a brief while intimate weddings made a comeback and I for one was a huge fan. Nothing quite beats having your very nearest and dearest in a dream venue all there to celebrate you finding your chosen person. This is exactly what Marianne and Dan did with 30 of their closest friends and family for their winter wedding in Castlemartyr. That winter light was hitting just right and was the perfect backdrop for some photos of this fun loving couple!

Intimate Luxury in Cork

Marianne and Dan planned their entire wedding from the States, not only that but they were planning during a time where people weren’t always sure if their wedding would go ahead. I remember hoping against hope that their special day would go ahead in the lead up to the day and thankfully it did, complete with bride and groom and 30 of their closest friends and family!

Marianne’s mum was instrumental in the planning process of the winter wedding in Castlemartyr, being their person on the ground in Ireland she made sure that every detail was taken care of from the flowers to the robes for the bridesmaids, I love the forest green and blush pink colours they went with.

Marianne and Dan had their actual ceremony in UCC in the Honan Chapel before an actual dash across Cork city to Castlemartyr Resort to ensure we got that gorgeous golden light before the sun set, once of the perks and pit falls of winter weddings, stunning light and early sunsets.

Castlemartyr is a sprawling luxurious estate with beautiful grounds and an old world glamour mixed with modern updates, 13th century castle ruins add that something special to the grounds. An elegant blend of old and new this is a really special venue and one I can’t wait to shoot in again!
